Proceeding contribution from Roger Gale (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 5 December 2022. It occurred during e-petition debate on Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill.

Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill

Mr Hollobone, I have explained to you that unfortunately, I have to leave early; I wish I did not have to. Before my hon. Friend moves on, a few moments ago he said “including, but not exclusively”. On behalf of the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation, which wholeheartedly supports the legislation, may I make it absolutely plain on the record that we do not see the Bill as a Christmas tree? There is no question of Conservative Members

trying to amend it to include things that the Government do not want, so if that is a block to the Bill, it no longer needs to be.
