Proceeding contribution from Andy Slaughter (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 15 May 2018. It occurred during Debate on bill on Data Protection Bill [Lords].
Data Protection Bill [Lords]
IPSO and its so-called compulsory arbitration are wholly inadequate. The only independent redress is through the courts, but that is much weakened because, post the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012, no win, no fee arrangements are no longer available, so the public actually have no clear independent remedy.
