Firearms: Licensing
- Question
-
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when she will publish the estimated fees for the new e-commerce system for firearms licensing.
- Answer
-
[holding answer 25 October 2013]: The introduction of e-commerce does not mean there will be an automatic change in fees for firearms licensing. The e-commerce system is a police initiative which will make the firearms licensing process far more efficient and may have cost benefits. Once the system has been piloted in summer 2014 we will work with police to calculate the costs of the automated process and consider reviewing the fees accordingly.
