The services transferring to the OneGov Delivery Agency are expected initially to continue to charge other government departments in accordance with existing agreements or Memoranda of Understanding. Work to establish OneGov has commenced and will consider issues such as longer-term funding models and scope of service delivery.

The government has consulted on new Early Years Register fee arrangements through the early years funding consultation, published on 6 July 2026 and which closed on 14 September 2026. The consultation sets out proposed reforms to the early years entitlements funding system, including proposals intended to simplify funding arrangements, improve access for families on low incomes, improve support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and make funding more efficient and transparent.
As part of the consultation, we are proposing to reduce or remove individual annual Ofsted fees, which could simplify the system and reduce direct cost pressures on providers, supporting provider sustainability.
All interested parties, including local authorities, early years providers, parents and carers, were encouraged to take part and share their views before the 14 September closing date.

The Government has not written to each local planning authority in the last 12 months to remind them that charges for pre-application advice should not exceed cost-recovery and has no plans to do so.
Planning Practice Guidance already makes clear that local planning authorities may charge for discretionary services, including pre-application advice, under section 93 of the Local Government Act 2003, but that such charges should not exceed the cost of providing the service.

The Immigration and Asylum Bill introduced the principle that, where a person has received taxpayer-funded asylum support and later becomes financially able to contribute towards those costs, it is right and fair that they should do so.
The Government considers the impacts of different policy options as part of policy development. The Government published an Impact Assessment and an Equality Impact Assessment alongside the Immigration and Asylum Bill, which include the assessments of introducing a requirement for individuals who have received asylum support to contribute towards its cost when financially able to do so.

The Government remains fully committed to delivering its manifesto commitment to scrap visa fees for non-UK veterans who have served for four years or more, and their dependants. Home Office officials are continuing to work closely with colleagues in the Ministry of Defence on its implementation.

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is independent of Government and is funded by fees charged to its registrants. The council is responsible for setting its own fees and determining flexible payment methods.
The GPhC currently offers the option for registrants to pay their fees in quarterly instalments and provides information regarding how pharmacists may be able to claim tax relief.

This department engages regularly with consumer organisations, regulators and industry representatives on a wide range of consumer issues and will continue to keep the effectiveness of the consumer protection framework under review.
We have not undertaken a specific review of charges applied by holiday resorts, hotels or other hospitality businesses to 16 and 17-year-olds. These are generally commercial decisions for the business to make. However, businesses must comply with consumer protection law, including requirements that information provided to consumers is clear and not misleading.
