Ministers: Electronic Equipment

Question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the Government maintains records of instances in which government-issued electronic devices assigned to Ministers have been lost or stolen.

Answer

As part of its standard operating procedures Cabinet Office Security will log any loss or theft of government-issued electronic devices and will direct individuals to report any stolen items to the police and request a crime reference number. This includes devices issued to Ministers. Other departments have similar policies.
