Banks: Regulation

Question

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he has had discussions with the Prudential Regulation Authority on when it will publish its response to Consultation Paper 16/22 on the Implementation of the Basel 3.1 standards.

Answer

The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) published its near-final policies on market risk, credit valuation adjustment risk, counterparty credit risk and operational risk in December 2023. The PRA has committed to publishing its final rules for the remaining elements from CP16/22 (credit risk, the output floor, and reporting and disclosure requirements) in Q2 2024.
