To ask the Deputy Prime Minister, pursuant to his Answer of 30th June, to the honourable Member for Halifax, 408 c33W, whether his statement that there will be no reduction in response to 999 calls as a result of modernisation of the Fire Service applies to all fire brigades. - Statement made by the Deputy Prime Minister applies to all fire brigades.

Mr. Hammond: To ask the Deputy Prime Minister pursuant to his answer of 30 June, to the hon. Member for Halifax (Mrs. Mahon), Official Report, column 33W, whether his statement that there will be no reduction in response to 999 calls as a result of modernisation of the Fire Service applies to all fire brigades.
