Mr. Malcolm Bruce: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what external scrutiny of performance against public service agreements is planned; and if he will make a statement. [59425] Mr. Byers: [holding answer 12 November 1998]: The public service agreements will set out clear objectives and performance and efficiency targets for public services. Performance against these objectives and targets will be reported annually to Parliament and the public.
