Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Margaret Ferrier (Independent (affiliation)), on Monday, 18 October 2021, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 5 members in total.
Work of the Samaritans’ local branch in Hamilton
That this House recognises the essential and emotionally sensitive work undertaken by volunteers at the Hamilton branch of the charity Samaritans; further recognises the significant contribution of volunteers over the last 18 months, which have sadly seen an increase in demand for their services, which they have worked hard to ensure continues to be provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week; notes the success of their many workstreams, which see them work with the local prison, with cross-disciplinary teams to identify areas of local concern so that services can provide targeted support, and provide extensive educational programmes and support across the community; celebrates the commitment of their many volunteers, particularly those that have committed over 40 years of their lives to the cause; and wishes the branch every success in their future works.
