Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Crausby (Labour), on Wednesday, 28 January 2004, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 76 members in total.
INSURANCE CAR DISCS
That this House recognises the problems caused by drivers of cars involved in road traffic accidents who do not have insurance cover; calls on the Government to introduce legislation that requires all car drivers to display an insurance disc similar to the current road tax disc inside their vehicle; and believes that this could be monitored in the same way as car tax violation and would safeguard people involved in car accidents and help reduce the spiralling cost of car insurance.
