Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Ainsworth (Labour), on Thursday, 11 May 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 24 members in total.
FOUNDATION FOR BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES
That this House deplores the totally inadequate investigation conducted by the Charity Commissioners into the affairs of the Foundation for Business Responsibilities; notes that they corresponded with the donors The Porter Foundation, G. M. Newton Charitable Trust, Sir Robert McAlpine Limited, the liquidators of the London and Paris Property Group Plc, Wimpey Group Services Ltd., Regalian Properties Plc and Hemmerson Group Management Limited, but made no serious attempt to establish where these organisations thought their money was going; therefore has no confidence in the investigation carried out; and calls on the Inland Revenue to conduct an inquiry into whether or not tax relief was inappropriately claimed on the donations made.
