National Highways is continuing to engage with the principal contractor to seek an amicable and timely resolution to the issues identified at M49 Severnside Junction 1. As these discussions continue, no decision has been made on whether to pursue adjudication, and any future consideration of legal options would be subject to legal privilege.
The contract for M49 Severnside Junction 1 was awarded through National Highways’ Collaborative Delivery Framework as a design and build arrangement, with responsibility for the design resting with the appointed contractor. The framework is based on the NEC model, under which the contract value may vary in certain circumstances. However, National Highways is unable to disclose commercially sensitive information, including the original contract value, final sum paid, or any sums sought from the contractor, while ‘without prejudice’ discussions remain ongoing with the contractor, as doing so could compromise those discussions.
Design and build contracts include standard provisions requiring contractors to remedy defects during the defect correction period. Where issues are pursued outside that period, as in this case, any claim would be treated as a standard breach of contract claim. National Highways will continue to engage with the contractor to ensure a shared understanding of the technical information and identify responsibility and liability, determining whether the matter can be resolved amicably and expeditiously.

As set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between HM Treasury and the Bank of England, the Bank of England is entirely responsible for the design, production, issue and distribution of banknotes.
The design of Bank of England banknotes, including the imagery they feature and the research which informs it, is a matter for the Bank of England. HM Treasury does not hold the focus group notes and reports referred to in the report the Bank of England deposited in the House of Commons Library.

Common Combat Vessel (CCV) will be the Royal Navy’s first ‘Hybrid’ warship, coordinating uncrewed systems in the air, on the surface and under the sea to deliver more resilient air defence at the centre of the Hybrid Navy. Whilst the CCV remains in the initial stages of design, the Navy’s aspiration is to sequence the arrival of the CCV and wider Hybrid Navy Integrated Air and Missile Defence capability with the out of service dates of the T45s in the mid-2030s onwards.
There are options for hull forms we are exploring and announcements will be made in the usual way as the project progresses.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether he is taking steps to ensure biophilic design is embedded into neighbourhood health centres.
The neighbourhood health centres guidance and specification, published on 15 April 2026, sets out both the strategic framework and the planning requirements for how providers, integrated care boards, and NHS England regions should organise their estates to support neighbourhood health.
As set out in the Neighbourhood Health design specifications, it is expected that new build neighbourhood health centres will meet the Net Zero Building Standard and provide exemplars for low carbon construction and operation. Centres are also required to be healthy buildings, providing well-tempered and well-designed environments.
Beyond this, we expect neighbourhood health teams and services will be designed in a way that reflects the specific needs of local populations. While there will be a consistent focus on personalised coordinated care, the centres will look different in different places, and this could include biophilic design.
