To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the answer of 7 September 2026 to question 23152 on Air Ambulance Services: Cambridgeshire, what is the allocation of the eight Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine trainees across the three local education providers in Cambridgeshire.
The three local education providers (LEPs) are: Essex and Herts Air Ambulance; Magpas; and East Anglia Air Ambulance. Each trainee will rotate either six months full time across two of the LEPs over a year or spend two years undertaking pre-hospital emergency medicine (PHEM) training. The latter requires them to spend one year at 50% with a LEP, combined with an emergency medicine training post rotating three weeks on and three weeks off for emergency medicine/PHEM, before rotating in the same way for their second year at another LEP.

Due to commercial sensitivities, we are unable to provide a complete list of sites identified through engagement undertaken as part of the Strategic Sites Accelerator's development. Decisions on the future of the programme remain subject to government approvals. We will continue to engage stakeholders and provide further information through the appropriate channels including an open call to sites in the coming months. The team are available to meet with site sponsors and engage on potential opportunities in the interim too.
Programme approvals are currently expected in the next few weeks, subject to any further due diligence required. We continue to work with HM Treasury and delivery partners to secure the necessary approvals and deliver the programme. We are still on track for delivery against schedules set from the announcement of the programme last year.

Publication of any plans and proposals is a matter for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. As the Hon Member will know, the Ministry announced on 7 September that it will be undertaking further consideration of the local government reorganisation programme, including proposals for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The Railways Act 2005 excludes guided bus systems from the Office of Rail and Road's (ORR) enforcement remit (along with fairground equipment and cableways). Instead, this is undertaken by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which undertook a successful prosecution of Cambridgeshire County Council in relation to the Guided Busway. The HSE/ORR MoU provides arrangements for cooperation and the sharing of advice between HSE and ORR on their respective areas of expertise and, as part of this, both organisations have engaged on the Cambridgeshire County Council prosecution case.

In line with its commitment to devolution, the government is giving local areas greater control over the delivery of Skills Bootcamps, enabling them to tailor the offer to the needs of local employers and their priorities for the economy.
Skills Bootcamps are now funded through local areas and, as of the 2026/27 academic year, Skills Bootcamps funding in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority is not ringfenced and combined with funding for the Adult Skills Fund.

The Government is driving delivery programme coordination, through the Water Delivery Taskforce, which was established to ensure water companies follow through on their planned investments and provide the water and wastewater capacity communities need. The Taskforce brings together the Environment Agency, Natural England, and other government departments to co-ordinate the programme delivery of the new reservoirs and ensure increased water supply is available to avoid shortfalls. Anglian Water have attended the Taskforce to update on the progress of the Fens Reservoir.
The Planning and Infrastructure Act, passed in 2025, contains measures to streamline the DCO process and reform compulsory purchase to make delivery faster and cheaper; subject to examination and full planning considerations. Once Anglian Water submit a DCO application, these changes will enable a decision to be made more quickly, reducing delays in the planning process.
