We announced in response to the Rycroft Review that we would introduce a donor declaration requirement for relevant donations in order to support the effective implementation of the Review's recommendations. The Government will bring forward further details in due course.

All donations with a value above £500 must be checked for permissibility in accordance with the requirements set out in the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act (PPERA).
The Know Your Donor regime will introduce new risk-based due diligence checks on significant political donations. These rules will apply across the electoral regime, which includes members of the House of Commons, political parties and their accounting units as well as holders of relevant elected office as set out in Schedule 7 of PPERA.
All recipients of political donations will need to carry out enhanced Know Your Donor due diligence checks on donations over £11,180.

The Code of Conduct and the Guide to the Rules are the responsibility of the Committee on Standards. The Code and Guide are regularly reviewed by the Committee with advice provided by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, and I expect Members will have an opportunity to contribute to any such review.

Know Your Donor rules will be implemented alongside clear, practical support for all recipients of donations. That is why the regime is underpinned by statutory guidance issued by the Electoral Commission, which will set out how recipients of donations should assess the relevant risk factors, the kinds of circumstances that may signal a heightened level of risk and the steps they can take to reduce that risk.
To keep the system responsive to evolving threats and campaigning practices, the legislation also enables this guidance to be updated as needed.
We will continue to work closely with the Commission and relevant stakeholders as the guidance is developed.
