That this House, noting the critical report on the Welsh Development Agency by the Committee of Public Accounts and mindful of the acceptance of those criticisms by the Government, now believes that the fitness of Dr Gwyn Jones, the former chair of the Agency, to hold public office has been so compromised that he should be dismissed forthwith as a governor of the BBC and as a board member of SC4.

That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to respond positively to the Welsh Development Agency's crisis Board meeting of Monday 18th October, and the resignation of its ??70,000 a year Chief Executive Philip Head by restoring the Agency to its proper role as the engine room of Welsh economic regeneration and job creation by hauling the Agency back to full political and financial respectability following the criticisms of its conduct by the Committeeof Public Accounts, and by uprooting the pervasive culture of arrogance that had developed in the Agency under its previous Chairman Dr Gwyn Jones, who could not distinguish between promoting himself and promoting Wales as a location for industrial investment, the Agency's true role in Wales's economic life.
