That this House notes the recent report published by the Department of the Environment entitled, Review of the Potential Effects of Climate Change in the UK, which concludes that there is mounting evidence that global climate is changing as a result of human activity; calls upon the Government to inquire as to what further measures should be taken both in the transport sector and in the industrial sector both up to the year 2000 and in the following 25 years in order to reduce their impacts upon climate change; and further calls on the Government to ensure that all Departments of State and Select Committees of this House collaborate, setting up joint initiatives where necessary and cross departmental co-operation to agree measures and their implementation to reduce road traffic and energy wastage and to promote energy efficiency in all sectors in order to reduce global warming and its impact on climate changes.
