Mr. Beith: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what research his Department has (a) commissioned and (b) evaluated on the
operation of local curfew schemes; and if he will make a statement. [32583]
Mr. McLeish: The Scottish Office commissioned a research consultant in November 1997 to evaluate aspects of Strathclyde Police's
Child Safety Initiative in Hamilton. A draft report is scheduled for submission to The Scottish Office in late summer 1998.
