That this House congratulates the swimming teams from the countries of the United Kingdom on their brilliant success, medal winning performances and personal best times at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia; and acknowledges the progress being made by swimmers, their clubs and coaches, as the 2012 Olympics approach.

That this House commends the success of the British team at the Down's Syndrome World Swimming Championships; notes that at the Paralympics at present, swimmers with Down's Syndrome have to compete in the S14 category for athletes with learning disabilities, which is a wide category that includes people with little physical disability; expresses concern that this creates an uneven playing field; and calls upon the Government to put pressure on the IPC to allow swimmers with Down's Syndrome to compete in a separate category.
