The Department for Transport and the devolved Administrations, including the Scottish Government, have been regularly monitoring salt supplies and stock levels across Great Britain with the help of agencies, local authorities and companies that supply salt. There has been very good co-operation across the UK.

The Copenhagen summit provides the opportunity for a vital step forward in securing a binding global agreement on climate change action. The Prime Minister has confirmed that he will be attending the Copenhagen summit.

The trends in claimant count in Scotland are in the range of a low of 67,700 in 1974 to a high of 334,000 in January 1987. Today there are 97,000 people on jobseeker's allowance in Scotland.
