The UK is committed to full, faithful, and timely implementation of the Windsor Framework, including the 'Not for EU' labelling requirements of the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme. Defra continually reviews compliance with the Windsor Framework to ensure the UK meets its international obligations.
The Government is negotiating an SPS Agreement with the EU, the benefits of which will flow to movements between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This depends on the UK showing itself to be a trusted partner by continuing to faithfully implement its existing Windsor Framework commitments.

Legislation introducing new specified quantities for the sale of prepacked wine came into effect in September 2024. The change was industry-led and allowed both still and sparkling wine to be sold in 200ml, 500ml and 568ml ‘pint’ sizes.
Producers and retailers were made aware via a Departmental press release in December 2023 which was widely reported in the media. Guidance about the changes was emailed to relevant organisations in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The changes introduced are optional. Business and retailers can produce and sell in the new sizes if they choose to, following their own commercial decisions.
That this House celebrates English Wine Week 20-28 June; highlights the significant contribution of this industry to the UK economy; notes in particular the 500 hectares of vines in Winchester, making it the fifth-largest wine producer in the country; pays tribute to Hambledon, The Grange, Longdown and Northbrook vineyards to name just a few; further celebrates all English wine producers and echoes the calls of Winchester City Council to make Hampshire the centre of the English wine industry, bringing jobs, tourism and investment to the region; and congratulates this fast-growing industry and its employees on their current and future success.

Organics are within scope of the EU-SPS Agreement, and subject to ongoing negotiations. The Government is considering the impact of all changes, including seeking independent advice and working closely with organic stakeholders. Certificates of inspection are a regulatory requirement to ensure full traceability and integrity of imported organic products and the ingredients in them. There is no scope to remove requirements for any group of businesses as this would result in loss of organic integrity.

The Government has no current plans to make changes to the alcohol duty system that was introduced in 2023 following extensive public consultation. The Government will progress its existing commitment to evaluate the impacts of the 2023 reforms and, as with all taxes, alcohol duty will be kept under review as part of the Budget process.
