That this House deplores the practice employed by Pulse UK of selling franchises to inexperienced people to run their own health testing services for cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose; notes this practice is being encouraged by the management of the Manchester Royal Infirmary, one of the first opted-out hospital trusts; is appalled at such irresponsible action; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to halt this dangerous practice immediately.

That this House urgently requests the Secretary of State for Health to make available the funding required for a large-scale clinical trial of the new test developed by Quest Cancer; and notes that if successful this new test could save the lives of women who would otherwise die from undetected cervical cancer, because of negative smears and would improve the lives of thousands of others maimed from late detection.
