To ask the Attorney-General whether he has considered increasing the amount of costs requested by the Crown Prosecution Service at the conclusion of magistrates' court cases.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is currently reviewing its Scales of Costs guidance and intends to issue revised guidance later this. year. The scales illustrate the average costs incurred in a wide range of cases and provide a benchmark to help inform costs applications against convicted defendants.
