Armed Forces: Catering

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what was the cost of catering services for armed forces personnel who were (a) deployed and (b) undertaking training in the latest period for which data is available.

Answer

It is not possible to separate the deployed costs from those undertaking training. The total amount spent on the provision of catering to all serving personnel engaged on duty, including training, in financial year 2021-22 was £57.629 million. In addition, £16.747 million worth of Operational Ration Packs were consumed in that year. These figures are inclusive of VAT.
