Unemployment by Constituency - November 2014
The number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance decreased by 20,400 between September and October 2014, to 931,700 people aged 18 or over, the lowest level since August 2008.
The unemployment rate was 6.0% in July-September 2014. The ILO measure of unemployment was 1.96 million people, down 115,000 from the previous quarter and down 529,000 from the previous year.
The number of people in employment was 30.79 million in July-September 2014, up 112,000 from the previous quarter and up 694,000 from the previous year. The employment rate was 73.0%.
