Legislation (Territorial Extent) Bill
A clear example is to be found in the explanatory notes to the next Bill that we will consider. In relation to the territorial extent and application, the notes state:"““The Bill extends to (that is, forms part of the law of) England and Wales. The terms of clause 1, however, mean that it will only take effect within England.””" Often, there is not the clarity that an ordinary person might want and seek, even when we put something on the face of a Bill.
