To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether he plans to put in place measures to counter transport operator identity crime. (Holding answer 16 July 2004).

Patrick Mercer: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he plans to put in place measures to counter transport operator identity crime. [184606] Mr. Jamieson: Security measures in place to manage the terrorist threat to the transport system vary according to the mode of transport and the threat. Where appropriate, such measures include the security screening of transport operators and the checking of their identity on entry to a restricted zone.
