Mr. Maude: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport if she will list (a) the title and subject, (b) the total cost to her Department and (c) the commissioned author or organisation of each external report commissioned by her Department in each year since 1997. [103712] Dr. Howells: The title and subject, cost and the commissioned author or organisation of each external report commissioned by the Department in each year since 1997 is shown in the following table. An "external report" has been interpreted as being a report produced at the request of government by a person, group or organisation external to the department, and which is publicly available. These costs are exclusive of any costs incurred by the Department in the publication of these reports which could have been obtained only at a disproportionate cost. _________________________________________________________________________________________________.
