Answer: Mr. Salmond: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what consultation she has had with the livestock auction industry in relation to the traceability of sheep; and if she will make a statement. [10296] Mr. Morley: [holding answer 26 October 2001]: Representatives of the livestock auction industry have been present at recent meetings to discuss traceability of sheep in England and Wales in the context of autumn and spring movements. We recognise the interests of the livestock auction industry in this subject; they will be invited to participate in further discussions on traceability.
