Answer

Mr. Kirkwood: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to receive the report of the Task Force appointed to review the arrangements surrounding protection orders issued under the Freshwater and Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1976; and if he will make a statement. [66316] Mr. Macdonald: Copies of the report have been placed in the Library. It will also be available on the Scottish Office website. I am grateful to the Task Force for their deliberations. They have made a number of recommendations for improving the transparency of the application process and for enhancing the operation and monitoring of Protection Orders approved. These recommendations have been incorporated in the revised guidance and application forms.
