Mr. Evans: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what discussions he has had with former members of the RUC concerning the Patten report on the future of the RUC. [129888] Mr. Ingram: During the three-month period of formal consultation on the Patten Report, and in discussions since then, Ministers have met a wide range of police representative groups to discuss the Patten Report and the future of the RUC. These have included retired officers, disabled officers, police widows and their families. Ministers have also received, and replied to, many letters from former RUC officers.
