Mr. Galbraith: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when the national director of the Scottish national blood transfusion service will be appointed; and if he will make a statement. [40775] Lord James Douglas-Hamilton: Pre-selection interviews for the appointment of a national director for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion service were held on 15 October. Final interviews of the shortlisted candidates will be held on 25 October. The successful candidate's subsequent appointment will be subject to negotiation and availability.
