From April 2012 virtually all VAT-registered businesses will have to file VAT returns online.Broadband is not required to file a VAT return. HMRC VAT filing software can be used with dial-up internet connections.HMRC has put in place extensive support to enable customers to go online, and has also worked with third parties (such as UK Online, national and regional trade and enterprise bodies, and the bookkeeping and agent organisations) to ensure that support is in place for those who need it. HMRC has published details of all the help and support available to VAT customers moving to online filing on the 'What's New' section of its website:"http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/news/index.htm"
