Floods: Insurance

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (1) what meetings she has had with representatives of the insurance industry to discuss replacement of the Statement of Principles on the provision of flood insurance; and if she will publish the minutes of those meetings;

Answer: In the light of the second flood insurance summit held with stakeholders in July, both Government and insurers are working closely together to ensure that flood insurance continues to be widely available.The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Meriden (Mrs Spelman), recently met the Association of British Insurers to discuss arrangements after the current Statement of Principles agreement comes to an end in July 2013, and plans to issue a progress update shortly.
