Drugs: Rehabilitation

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many residential places were available for drug rehabilitation of under 18-year-olds in England in each year since 2000.

Answer: I have been asked to reply.Information is not held centrally about the number of residential places available across the country that are able to support young people with substance misuse and other complex needs.For the vast majority of young people under 18 community-based services are the most appropriate option. In addition, local authorities can arrange a package of support that combines specialist drug treatment with specialist children's home, fostering places or other supported accommodation.
