What tests are applied to ascertain residue levels of toxic chemicals in imported foodstuffs from eastern Europe, European Common Market & rest of world; how many tests were carried out in each of past 5 years & on what types of foods & what changes SO intends to make in this system. - Incls ref to reports of Govts steering group on food surveillance, copies in Library.
