Monuments: VAT

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what estimate he has made of the cost to his Department of the VAT Relief on Memorials scheme in each of the next three years.
Answer

The Memorials Grant Scheme make grants equivalent to the VAT incurred by charities and faith groups in establishing or repairing public memorials. The scheme is demand-led and it is not possible, therefore, to estimate accurately future costs.
