- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer on how many occasions and for what length of time the online tax filing service has been out of operation in the last six months.

Between the 1 August 2007 and the 31 January 2008 the SA on-line filing service was out of operation on 19 separate occasions for an overall total of 113 hours. Ten of these disruptions and 62 of the total hours were for planned and essential maintenance and upgrades by either HMRC or the Government Gateway. Other disruptions to the service were as a result of technical failures.
