- asked Her Majesty's Government:Further to the Written Answers by Lord Triesman on 12 November (Official Report, col. WA 1–2) and 26 November (Official Report, col. WA 98–99), what validation of previously reported cloning research might be expected in light of a statement by the relevant authorities in Newcastle on 2 November that ““no embryos will be produced”” using 700 eggs expected to be provided by women benefiting from financial incentives publicly funded by the Medical Research Council.
