Food: Labelling
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many investigations the Food Standards Agency carried out into falsely labelled food in each year since 2006; and what the cost was of the investigations.
- Answer

Investigations into falsely labelled food are not carried out directly by the Food Standards Agency. The Agency has the overall policy responsibility for food labelling, however the enforcement of the legislation is undertaken by food enforcement officers who are employed by local authorities.
