90th anniversary of St Martin's Church
That this House recognises and congratulates St Martin’s Church in Barnehurst on its 90th anniversary; notes that the land was purchased in 1935 and the first service was held in a large marquee; further recognises that work began on building the church in April 1936 before Lady Plender officially laid the foundation stone on 16 May 1936; highlights the Family Fun Day held earlier this year in May; also recognises the important impact that the church has had on the community across Barnehurst and the surrounding areas; thanks the church community for their hard work; and wishes the Reverend Gareth Bowen, all the staff, volunteers and congregation at St Martin’s Church all the best for the future.
