Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John McDonnell (Labour), on Tuesday, 15 January 2013, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 30 members in total.
TAXATION OF BANKERS' BONUSES
That this House notes with concern that Goldman Sachs had planned to delay paying bonuses to its bankers in the UK in order to exploit the forthcoming cut in income tax for high earners; and, whilst noting that this decision has now been rescinded, calls on the Government to bring forward legislation to enable action to be taken against any company that seeks to manipulate its payment system to avoid taxes in this way.
