Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alison McGovern (Labour), on Tuesday, 11 December 2012, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 38 members in total.

HILLSBOROUGH JUSTICE FUND SINGLE AND VAT

That this House notes the 23 year fight for truth by families, survivors and campaigners following the Hillsborough disaster on 15 April 1989; further notes that steps are underway to seek to quash the original inquest verdicts on the 96 victims and undertake new inquests; further notes the collaboration of musicians in producing a cover of the song He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother by the Justice Collective to be released on 17 December, with all proceeds going towards a legal fund to support the families in their continuing fight for justice; and calls on the Chancellor of the Exchequer to waive VAT on this recording so as to maximise the funds available to support the Hillsborough families.
