RIBA STIRLING PRIZE 2007

That this House congratulates David Chipperfield on winning the RIBA Stirling Prize on 6th October for the Museum of Modern Literature in Marbach, Germany; applauds the Royal Institute of British Architects for its continued success in organising the Stirling Prize, which is recognised as one of the world's most important architectural awards; considers that the fact that four out of the six short-listed buildings are overseas is a testament to the success of British architecture as one of this country's most successful exports; and praises the Royal Institute of British Architects for its important work in encouraging a better public understanding of architecture, its strenuous efforts to promote excellence in the architectural profession and its work to campaign for good design.
