Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Adrian Sanders (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 13 November 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 68 members in total.

WORLD DIABETES DAY AND THE NATIONAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK

That this House recognises the achievements of the winners of the Lilly Outstanding Achievement and Recognition Awards announced by Sir Steve Redgrave CBE on World Diabetes Day 14th November; urges that these people with diabetes should be seen as positive role models of what can be achieved despite this condition; notes that their success at both national and regional levels in these awards will raise public expectation for the publication of the delivery plan for the Diabetes National Service Framework; and calls on the Government to publish their delivery strategy immediately to ensure that all people diagnosed with diabetes receive world class diabetes care in the UK, particularly those at risk of developing complications of diabetes such as diabetic retinopathy, the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment to affect the working population, and the theme for this year's World Diabetes Day.
