CAIRN LODGE SERVICE STATION
That this House welcomes the proposed investment of ??6 million to develop a motorway service station at Cairn Lodge Service Station on the M74; calls on the Scottish Office to give the necessary assistance and encouragement to the owner, Mr John McInnes, in his efforts with this development which will create 100 jobs in an area of known high unemployment; is disappointed that the Scottish Office officials have deliberately delayed their decision to give permission for proper road signs for Cairn Lodge; and calls on the Secretary of State for Scotland to intervene immediately and grant the required permission.
